Pastor Jason Watson and his family joined our church in 2012 and Jason was called to be our Teaching Pastor in December 2017. As Teaching Pastor, Jason was the lead teacher of God’s Word at Community Church of St. Lawrence, with the primary role of preaching during regular weekly worship services.
In addition to his role as Teaching Pastor at CCSL, Jason also served as Superintendent/Principal at Sunshine Bible Academy from August 2011 to June 2026. In July 2026, Community Church of St. Lawrence called him to be the Lead Pastor.
Jason and his wife, Kristina, were married in August 1999 and have a daughter, Cassidy, and a son, Owan.
Jason has a B.A. in Political Science from Drake University, a Master of Theology degree from Christian Bible College, a Master of Education with an emphasis in Educational Leadership from Lynchburg College, a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies with an emphasis in Christian Education from Trinity Theological Seminary, a Master of Arts in American History from Pace University and an Educational Specialist degree from the University of South Dakota.
Jason would summarize his life to this point as “the unexpected road,” given that it was never his plan to be in education or church ministry. However, having followed God’s leading in his life, he has developed a passion for teaching, for the church and for the power of God’s Word.
