Pastor Jason Watson and his family joined our church in 2012 and Jason was called to be our Teaching Pastor in December 2017. As Teaching Pastor, Jason is the lead teacher of God’s Word at Community Church of St. Lawrence, with the primary role of preaching during regular weekly worship services.
Jason and his wife, Kristina, were married in August 1999 and have a daughter, Cassidy, and a son, Owan. The Watsons moved to South Dakota from Virginia in 2011. In addition to his role as Teaching Pastor at CCSL, Jason also serves as Superintendent/Principal at Sunshine Bible Academy.
Jason has a B.A. in Political Science from Drake University, a Master of Theology degree from Christian Bible College, a Master of Education with an emphasis in Educational Leadership from Lynchburg College and a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies with an emphasis in Christian Education from Trinity Theological Seminary. He is also nearing completion of his Educational Specialist degree from the University of South Dakota.
Jason would summarize his life to this point as “the unexpected road,” given that it was never his plan to be in education or church ministry. However, having followed God’s leading in his life, he has developed a passion for teaching, for the church and for the power of God’s Word.
